Our Reading Therapy Dogs will be at the library Sat. Jan. 19 from 10-11AM! Come in and snuggle with a furry friend while you read your favorite book!
Ellwood City native, David Seaburn will read excerpts of his new book, Chimney Bluffs, and discuss the inspiration behind his latest novel Sat. Dec. 1 at 10 am at Ellwood City Public Library. Signed copies of the book will be available for purchase. David is also the author of Charlie No Face, a novel written about growing up in Ellwood City in the 1960′s.
The annual library Book Sale begins Monday Oct. 1 at 10 am. The sale continues all week during regular library hours. Monday – Thursday 10 am – 8 pm, and Friday 10 am – 4 pm. Saturday the Book Sale will be open from 9 am – 2 pm. On Saturday ONLY books are $5.00 a bag! For more information call the library at 724-758-6458.
Fall programming kicks off this week with a new Baby Laptime at 10 am Tuesday mornings. The fall session begins Oct. 2nd through Nov. 13th. The program is designed for our youngest book lovers and their parents. Emphasis will be on tactile and auditory skills and large muscle coordination. The program is 30 minutes long. Family Laptime begins Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm and caters to families with babies, toddlers and preschoolers.It runs for the same seven week period. Preschool Story Time starts Thurs. Oct.4 and runs through Thurs. Nov. 15th. Each weekly program is themed and features stories, songs, fingerplays and other activities. Children should have celebrated their third birthday and be potty trained. Parents may remain for the program if they choose to. Please register by calling the library at 724-758-6458.
It’s September and time for the annual Storytelling Festival. Please join us in Ewing Park on Sat. Sept. 15 from 3:30-7:30pm for another amazing show!! The schedule this year includes some awesome storytellers and lots of other activities as well. Enjoy a carnival atmosphere including balloon animals, games for kids, a horse drawn trolley, and wandering mintrels! The Festival is free except for popcorn, cotton candy, hot dogs, and nachos purchased from the Friends of the Library Booth. Here is this year’s lineup:

Everyone did such a nice job Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the Puppet Theater Workshop Performances. I am so proud of everyone who participated! Thank you for all your hard work!
Four original puppet plays will be perfromed by our Puppet Theater Workshop Participants on Tuesday July 17 and Wednesday July 18. The performances are held on two evenings to accomadate the large audience. Both shows are at 6:30 pm and open to the public. The Puppet Shows represent five weeks of rehearsals by workshop participants. Their creativity in developing plots and characters is amazing. A reception follows the performance. Come and enjoy the show!
