Our Puppet Theater Workshop will be performing their original plays Tuesday July 19th and Wednesday July 20th at 6:30pm. These plays represent five long weeks of practice by our team of elementary students and high school directors. Come and cheer them on! A reception will follow both evenings.

Fairytale Theater will be held every Thursday evening at 6:30pm in July. Original plays are written and performed by teens participating in the library’s Creative Writing Critique Group and are appropriate for preschoolers and early elementary students.There will be 2-3 plays per evening. No registration is necessary! Come and enjoy puppet theater! Only floor seating is available.

Check out  the wide variety of programs the Library is offering area families this summer!

Family Laptime, our evening Story Time, beginning  Tues. June 14 at 6:30pm, will appeal to parents with babies and small children.

Saturday Morning, our Family Story Time, will be held Sat. May 7, Sat. July 2, & Sat. August 6 at 10am. Join us for crafts, stories and more! Sat. June 4, Ellwood City Library will participate in the Summer Reading Kick-off from 10am-2pm at Cascade Park. All events are free! See you there!

For kids heading off to kindergarten for the first time, Jumpstart to Kindergarten begins Tues. June 14 at 10am.

Elementary school kids will enjoy the Wednesday Programs starting June 15. Those who have completed kindergarten and first grade meet at 10am and second and third grade meet at 11am.  These programs combine crafts, games and books.

The Puppet Theater Workshop mixes up a sweet concoction of creative writing, acting, and puppetry in a five week program that culminates in a live puppet performance on Tues. July 19th and Wed. July 20th. The Puppet Workshop meets from 10-11:30am beginning June 16. Children must have completed fourth grade to participate.

Four Family Movie Nights are scheduled for June 9, June 16, June 23,  and June 30 at 6:30pm. Movies and refreshments are both free!! Call the library for movie titles and ratings.

The library offers four book discussion groups for kids and young adults. Each group reads a new book each month and meets at the library for pizza and discussion. New members are always welcome!

Bookworms …4th & 5th grade…..meets in June, July & August

Hooked on Books…..6th-8th grade….meets every month year round

 Just 4 Girls …..7th grade and up….meets every month year round

Food 4 Thought…..9th-12th grade…..meets every month year round

We also offer a Creative Writing Critique Group for teens 7th grade and up.
